The core mission is to equip families with knowledge and advocacy tools, ensuring they feel confident, respected, and heard throughout their birthing experience. Every birth is unique. Birthing person should attend with one other person planning to offer support during their labor/birth: partner, doula, or family member/friend. A short intake form will be sent out to participants to make sure that needs are considered and addressed. Taught by Kelly M. Renn of every.body.advocacy. Kelly (she/her) is an educator and advocate who has spent years supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenting. A childbirth educator (BADT in-training, Lamaze trained) and former labor doula (DONA trained), she also brings her early childhood education background (P–3, Montclair State University) to the table—because if anyone knows how to keep calm in chaos, it’s someone who’s worked with small children and laboring adults. These days, you’ll find her teaching childbirth classes and leading the always-lively New Baby Group at the Bok Building. A spirited philanthro-activist, Kelly partners with groups like the Abortion Liberation Fund, Philly Birth Fund, and the planning partners of Black Maternal Health Week to advance reproductive and birth justice—especially for those too often overlooked. At home, she’s a devoted, delightfully scattered mom to Nuala and Fiadh and a loving wife to Evan
